When Land Rover needed a fitting farewell to their iconic Defender 4×4, they asked Torque to provide it.
With a brief arriving only five weeks before the event, we set about devising a live show that included corralling Defenders of all types, from every decade, into one place, all the time working around the confines of the still-running production line!
We were responsible for creating all the scripts and content and we also managed the full technical production, including lighting, audio and set build, with our onsite crew of 25 working through the night to set the stage ready for the big day.
Our time travelling show — hosted by TV presenters and Defender fans, Quentin Willson and Vicki Butler-Henderson — was the centrepiece to the celebrations, taking an audience of 500 media, VIPs and employees through the history of Defender, with the last current model being the star of the show.
Attended by Jaguar Land Rover’s executive board and attracting international media coverage, our event was deemed a great success and a fitting celebration of this iconic vehicle.
