Last week, Chevron Lubricants launched its new range of commercial vehicle heavy-duty motor oils across all European markets under the Texaco Delo brand.

Chevron, which operates under the Texaco master brand in Europe, has made the changes to align its European heavy-duty lubricant business with the global Delo brand currently used in North and Central America, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa. For the first time, the Texaco Delo brand will bring together several product lines across on and off-highway markets, including engine oils, drivetrain fluids, final drive fluids, greases and extended life coolants.

The launch of Texaco Delo in Europe will allow the company to leverage its global expertise in ongoing work with international OEMs, channels partners and end-user customers in the development of new and existing products and services.

Our goal is to optimise our customer’s vehicle performance to help minimise operating costs, improve component durability and thereby maximise vehicle reliability. Offering Texaco Delo means European customers benefit from the strength and reliability of the Texaco marque, and the integrity and proof of performances of the Delo family of products.

To accompany the launch of Texaco Delo, Chevron Lubricants also announced new greases, gear oils and transmission fluids to be added to its commercial and industrial lubricants range.

Included in the transmission fluid line-up is the newly formulated Delo Syn-AMT XV SAE 75W-90, with long-drain capability, and low-temperature fluidity to assist with fast circulation and wear protection during cold start-up. Its high viscosity and good shear stability mean it can cope with high temperature lubrications, and it is specially tuned to provide smooth shifting. A new Delo Syn ATF XV high-performance synthetic automatic transmission fluid is also being launched, offering good resistance to sludge, lacquer and deposits, while promoting gear, bearing and clutch wear protection to improve vehicle fuel economy.

New gear oils include Delo Gear CGA SAE 80W-90 and Delo Syn-Gear XPD SAE 75W-85, specially designed for longer drain intervals than standard mineral oils. Three new greases also join the Texaco Delo line-up, extending the Delo Starplex product range.

Finally, new formulations have been introduced across the Texaco Delo engine oil range. Delo 400 MGX SAE 15W-40 is designed for mixed fleets using both on- and off-highway vehicles, while Delo 400 XLE SAE 10W-30 helps engines meet Euro VI emissions requirements and Delo 400 XSP SAE 5W-40 is ideal for operation in cold climates.
