David Brown Automotive has today unveiled the Speedback Silverstone Edition at the Geneva International Motorshow. Limited to just 10 production cars, the coach-built, handcrafted model is a classically inspired grand tourer for the 21st century, and is the highest performance car ever made by the brand.

Bespoke British handcraftsmanship

David Brown Speedback Silverstone Edition

With its meticulous detail and high-quality finish, the Silverstone Edition builds on the bespoke British handcraftsmanship true of the David Brown Automotive brand. Each of the 10 production cars is priced to reflect the thousands of man hours required to build each car by hand, costing from £620,000 (plus taxes, duties and shipping costs). The unique bespoke ordering and handbuilding process means no car will leave the factory the same.

As David Brown Automotive’s most performance-focused car, the Silverstone Edition features a powerful 5.0-litre twin-scroll supercharged V8, producing 601 horsepower and 565ft ib of torque. Enhanced suspension upgrades match the powertrain gains, and the car make 0-60mph in 4.2 seconds, with a top speed of 155mph.

It’s all in the detail

Inside the cockpit, the Silverstone Edition comprises a two seater configuration – with a Siverstone Circuit outline embroided into the tan leather of the seats. Other unique Silverstone Edition badges are prominent around the car. The classically inspired grand tourer meets the 21st Century as a number of mod cons – such as satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and a Bowers & Wilkins surround sound audio system – are all standard features.

The limited-run Silverstone Edition is intended to appeal to a new demographic of customer. In among the performance aspects of the car, David Brown Automotive is celebrating its one-year anniversary at the company’s Silverstone headquarters, relocating to the historic Silverstone raceway and ex-airfield to set up its offices and coach building facility.
