With a lifelong passion for the automotive industry, strengthened by his time at Tesla Motors, Tom Bromley brings enthusiasm and content generation experience to the team, to support across a wide range of Torque’s client activities.

We asked Tom a few questions to help us to get to know him a little better…

My journey so far

I studied a practical business degree in Bristol. After graduating from the University of the West of England, I had my first foray into the world of electric vehicles, and quickly found that working at Tesla Motors deepened my interest and appreciation for the electric powertrain. Whilst at Tesla I also created content for my website and YouTube channel ‘Tom Bromley Talks Cars’, providing entertaining and informative automotive content.

What ignited my passion for cars

A summers evening after primary school – my father’s tennis partner took me for a spirited B Road drive in his brand-new Subaru Impreza P1. My first experience in a high-performance vehicle was truly captivating. Tightly cocooned in reassuringly bolstered bucket seats, to this day I recall the G force whilst the Subaru enthusiastically accelerated.

Most memorable automotive experience

With the old man putting a Mercedes C63 AMG through its paces along the Maricopa Highway just outside of Malibu, California. Bliss. Interestingly this story does not have a happy ending, dad ‘decided’ to run over a sizeable rock in the road, subsequently puncturing the back-right tyre. (Thanks to no spare wheel, 6 hours later we end up finishing our holiday in an Eco Boost Mustang – sigh).

Why I choose a career in Automotive PR

I have always possessed an insatiable passion for all things automotive and take great personal satisfaction from writing. I also wanted to relocate to the capital after graduation, London is a city I have always felt drawn to. So when the opportunity arose to work for Torque and get involved with their broad spectrum of automotive clients, it was an obvious choice.

Automotive event I am most excited for in 2018

Goodwood Revival. I’m slightly embarrassed to admit, I have never attended this event – much to the dismay of my motoring circle. This is the go to car event of the year, providing the perfect opportunity to catch a glimpse of the world’s most valuable, exclusive and covetable classic machinery. I intend to hunt out a Ferrari 250 GTO and hopefully many more masterpieces on my wish list.

Tom is the second new team member to join Torque this year, after Henry Willis joined as account manager last month.
