Havoline ambassador and professional triathlete, Richard Murray, took third place last weekend while competing in the series finale of the ITU World Triathlon. The world’s best athletes battled it out during the gruelling 51.5km race, which concluded with Richard finishing the ITU Triathlon season in a respectable fourth place.

Multi-disciplinary sport

Triathlon is a sport of growing popularity, and the ITU World Triathlon Series is the lynchpin event in the yearly Triathlon calendar. Havoline supported Richard and Rachel along their demanding seven-month race season, which saw the ambassadors swim, cycle and run their way to success in major cities all over the globe. From the sun-baked streets of Abu Dhabi where Rachel secured her first win in the ITU, to the bustling streets of Leeds in the UK, where Richard took 1st place.

Throughout the season Havoline organised a plethora of video content, which was hosted exclusively on the Havoline Europe Facebook page. The Richard Murray ‘Elements of Success’ video series explored various topics: from how Richard’s family dynamic has shaped his success, to a behind the scenes look at the training required to maintain his world-class status.

Havoline has organised a number of competitions on its Facebook page. This included flying two lucky individuals to the world’s biggest Triathlon event in Hamburg, Germany, to have dinner with Richard and Rachel. Havoline also provided tickets to the race and accomdation.

The Hunt legacy lives on

Havoline’s three-part ‘Freddie Meets’ interview series to honour 25 years since the passing of his father, saw Freddie have candid conversations with Formula One greats, Bernie Ecclestone, Lord Hesketh and Mika Häkkinen. The Havoline branded videos were viewed by more than 160,000 people, from Australia to Bosnia, and were a global success
