Zapp, a new scooter manufacturer headquartered in the UK, has today unveiled the i300. The fully electric, high-performance scooter is offered in a radical design and promises to make urban commuting more fun and sustainable.

Market-leading engineering

The new e-scooter uses a permanent magnet electric motor which produces 587Nm of torque at the rear wheel. Combined with a lightweight construction of 90kg, the vehicle can reach 30mph in less than 2.4 seconds. To ensure a responsive, confident riding experience, a configurable regenerative braking system is found alongside drilled brake discs, ABS and a 140mm-wide nitrogen-filled rear tyre.

Meanwhile, the i300 features a number of superbike level components, including progressive rate gas-filled forks and pushrod/mono rear swing arm suspension.

Innovative charging solution

The Zapp i300 uses a pair of easy-to-transport lithium-ion batteries, which enable owners to recharge by simply removing the battery and charging using a household plug socket. This convenient solution is complemented by an estimated range of 35 miles from the two batteries, with an optional third battery offered for longer journeys.

With a generous choice of colours, comprehensive suite of carbon fibre extras, and different seating and storage options, the i300 can be built to meet a wide range of commuting scenarios and style preferences.

Commenting on the unveiling of the i300, Swin Chatsuwan, Zapp Chief Executive said:

“With air quality in cities worsening and our roads becoming increasingly congested, the world needs new alternatives to urban transport. With its revolutionary design, thrilling performance, and clean power source, we believe the i300 is the e-mobility solution people have been looking for. There are already electric scooters out there, so we only ever intended to bring something highly innovative and hugely desirable to the market. There is nothing like the Zapp i300, either from a design or functionality perspective. We are very proud of what we have created and are sure that commuters will like it as well.”
