If I have an abiding memory growing up it’s of lots of family weekends spent with journalists, courtesy of British Leyland. As a kid I attended product launches of iconic truck models such as the Roadrunner, spent Saturdays at Silverstone and Brands Hatch watching Formula One or truck racing and loved every minute of it. FYI, if you’ve never seen the TV ad featuring stunt driver Gilbert Bataille driving the Roadrunner truck on two wheels, you’re missing out – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8C7ufynDoM
So, I suppose it’s no surprise that as an adult, I made my way back into the commercial vehicle world once again – and I’ve never looked back.
Being a woman in communications has changed enormously since I started out an unspecified number of decades ago, but one of the things I love most about this industry is that it’s a constantly changing landscape. Having learnt my craft by working my way up the ranks, I’m really passionate about training, mentoring and encouraging young people to bring their unique perspective to everything they do.
