Georgia Gillespie

My love for writing started at around the same time as my love of cars.

At 16 years old I knew I wanted to work in the communications industry – English and Media were my favourite subjects which led me to study Journalism at university. At 16 years old I also couldn’t wait to learn how to drive! This meant hours of scrolling through websites looking at cars and counting down to my 17th birthday.

I studied at the University of the West of England (Bristol) and graduated with First Class Honours. My degree gave me a solid foundation and meant I could explore all sorts of avenues as a graduate. And PR was the road I decided to drive down.

While I have experience in traditional PR and comms, social media and digital marketing is where my passion lies. I have been managing social media for a number of clients across a variety of sectors, both B2B and B2C, since 2018. Before joining Torque, I worked for a leading PR agency based in the South West and was responsible for delivering the social media services to clients – from day-to-day monitoring and follower interaction to developing social media strategies and crafting engaging campaigns.

My move to Torque has allowed me to combine two things I enjoy and I’m excited to be working with a great range of clients in the automotive sector. I’m also looking forward to continuing to develop in the world of PR and social media, now as part of Team Torque!

My love of cars has also grown over the years. I started with a Vauxhall Corsa – the perfect car for getting me to uni and back – which still holds the title of my longest owned car. But most recently I’ve been driving an Audi TT and a BMW Z4.

Outside of work and cars, you’ll find me on the netball court or in the woods with my little Frenchie, Reuben.
