For the second year in a row, we’ve been shortlisted in the SocialDay Social Media Marketing Awards. In 2025, we were recognised for a client campaign, while this year we’re finalists in the Boutique or Independent Agency category for our excellent growth.
Over the last 12 months, we've doubled the size of our social team, doubled our retained social client base, increased social revenue by 74.2% and maintained 100% client retention. No mean feat!
So, how did we do it? Well, here are four decisive actions Torque made to allow social to shine.
1. We made it easier for clients to buy social media
One challenge we often encounter is that a business knows they need social media support but face a spectrum of opportunity and no reference points to gauge the right level of commitment.
To make it more approachable from the outset, we developed a suite of tiered packages – Kickstart, Turbo and Supercharged. Each package provides a clear entry point, with defined deliverables, objectives and budgets, while still allowing flexibility for businesses with more complex requirements. And for those businesses that know what they want or need, custom packages are, of course, still available.
Alongside these, we also launched a brand-new Executive Positioning service. Having seen the increasing importance of personal brands on LinkedIn, particularly for senior leaders in the automotive sector, we developed a service to aid executives in building their influence and visibility online through authentic thought leadership.
2. We became our own case study
While we have consistently posted on our own social media, this year we challenged ourselves to treat Torque's own social channels exactly as we would a client's. It’s all too easy to share your knowledge and forget to apply your own advice!
That meant building a structured content strategy, creating a consistent publishing schedule, investing in video, showcasing our new services, sharing more of our people and measuring performance against clear objectives.
We also supported the launch of our new service packages with targeted paid social campaigns, ensuring they reached the right automotive and B2B audiences while generating valuable new business conversations.
3. We invested in people at the right time
As our ambitions for the social team grew, we invested in our team to strengthen our creative capabilities.
Equally important was bringing the wider agency on the journey. Through regular knowledge-sharing sessions and internal training, we helped colleagues better understand the role social media plays within integrated communications, making it easier to identify opportunities and deliver joined-up campaigns for clients.
Looking back, investing in people – not just the social team, but the wider agency – was one of the biggest enablers of our growth.
4. Success isn't just about winning clients
Growth is exciting, but it's only meaningful if you continue delivering for the clients who place their trust in you from the start.
As always, our focus is placed firmly on client outcomes. Whether supporting highly technical engineering businesses with engaging content, helping financial services brands strengthen employer branding or building executive profiles through thought leadership, our priority was always creating measurable value and a positive return on investment.
We're particularly proud we’ve maintained a 100% client retention rate. For us, that's one of the strongest indicators that the foundations of our social team are rock solid.
